Burrgupurrngu, held in high esteem as a yidaki craftsman by Djalu, and mentor and teacher of some of today's big names, has painted this instrument from top to bottom with Ratjipa, the ochre pigment from Galiwinku Island with the implausibly shimmering lustre. A thoroughbred yidaki: lively, perfectly balanced back-pressure, unlimited speed and a strong, bright and well-balanced sound. Not surprising that Yomunu has once more been inspired: Quicktime Movie. An extraordinary yidaki which is terrific value for money.
